Groundwater Protection

Groundwater is a major source of drinking water in many Northern European countries. Protection of groundwater is an important issue for water suppliers, authorities and for the stakeholders involved. Up to now, the legislation and the possibilities for groundwater protection have been very diverse in different countries.

Now the Water Framework Directive and the Groundwater Directive provide a common legislative framework.

The GroPro conference was arranged by ATV Soil and Groundwater and successfully conducted on September 15-17, 2008.
