| General InformationAcross the borders of the Nordic countries, we have a common interest and openness regarding development inside and outside the Nordic region. This is also true when it comes to remediation of contaminated sites. The Nordic countries have large natural and demographic variations. This has led to differences in approach and focus of the efforts to remediate contaminated sites. For instance, the efforts to protect drinking water from contamination are heavily affected by the areas dependence on supplies from respectively groundwater and surface water. Therefore we have developed knowledge about different parts of the field of remediation of contaminated sites and this gives us a great opportunity to learn from each other. During the recent years, we have seen an increased focus on the less technical sides of the work with contaminated sites. Subjects such as sustainability and communication have gained increased focus, and during NORDROCS 2010, we will share our experiences on these subjects as well as on the technical aspects of remediating contaminated sites. At NORDROCS 2010, we will cover a wide range of aspects of the work with contaminated sites. During the main sessions, we will have the opportunity to get brushed up with the latest developments, and for those wanting a closer dialogue about a specific subject, workshops with a limited number of participants are arranged. You will also find an exhibition of posters and an exhibition from companies working in the field of remediation of contaminated sites.
